Although this post isn’t fully focused on cleaning there will of course be some references.. (ahh shameless self promotion) Living in Auckland city definitely has it perks – the great restaurants & bars, clean beaches & beautiful scenery everywhere. There are definitely downfalls, being very fast paced you can get caught up in the rat race. This means long hours at work, mornings and evenings spent in commute, and meetings outside of work hours. A lot of the spare time is spent doing other chores for the household and family which leaves you entirely drained for you to have any personal time to recover!
We personally believe you need to make time for yourself to relax but at the same time we realize you can’t live in a mess, we realize you have things to take care of and we also understand you have family to tend to and a career / business to grow. That’s why we wanted to share three easy tips on how you can live a more stress free lifestyle in the big city of Auckland.
1) Problem Solve
Find out the cause of you’re stress, is it work? is it the long commute? is your family nagging you to spend more time with them? once you can answer the root of you’re stress you are now able to find ways to help solve it. Maybe it consist of relocating, perhaps changing jobs, or simply taking a holiday to really refresh yourself.
2) Delegate!
Speaking of stress, I can’t stress this enough but I hear so many of my friends and family members about not having enough time to do things they really yearn to do, that they are absolutely passionate about. What I see most too often are people that try to be a jack of all trades, e.g. they decide to paint their own home, steam clean their own curtains, fix the t.v… you name it! When you are doing all this half-ass taking twice as long than it should, you then stress more about not being able to relax and enjoy the things you want to do.
Cleaning companies like us exist because there is a demand for our services, there are people that understand delegation frees up their own time which allows them to use it wisely. A lot of people are mistaken for what true value is – it’s not money, it’s time.. what you always look back on are the goods times had & the memories made, all of which rarely encompasses money in the equation. Next time you need something done think can you delegate that task – painting your home, can you really do it faster and better? cleaning your home? do you want to spend your weekend inside cleaning your toilet? the obvious answer is no. Hire the professionals so you can continue developing your hobbies, your career’s and businesses, and tend to the love ones that need you.
3) Eat Well & Stay Active
The above two tips really allow you to have more time which when used wisely helps a person become happier and stress free. This of course is assumed with the correct adequate sleep, and rest. Number #3 is all about the proactive approaches you can do take to ensure you stay stress free, happy, and healthy.
When we say eat well we aren’t doctors however we all understand what can be considered a healthy an unhealthy meal and we think you can too. I love to eat as much as anyone else and I’ve tried clean eating diets that never lasted. We here at Grand Clean live by a pretty easy philosophy work hard and eat well, and workout even harder. Eating well in our minds mean eating what our body needs not wants, this means no fast food or soft drinks. Working hard everyday means i’d like to enjoy the fruits of my labor and that’s not going to happen by eating junk and clogging my arteries.
With the tips from #1 & #2 this allows you to learn to cook! not only is this therapeutic, but you have complete control on what goes into your meal. If this isn’t your thing there are a tonne of healthy alternatives being in Auckland city. Again delegating someone else preparing your meal is freeing up more of your time so do it if you don’t like cooking yourself. Lastly simply staying active, you can feel yourself if you’re a bit sluggish stop sitting on the couch and go for a run even a brisk walk getting some fresh air is good. Having being told us Aucklander’s need to push play for 30 minutes I feel that’s not nearly enough. I would say at least an hour which can be broken up in the day, if it’s an intense workout 30 minute would be fine however most people don’t do this. 1 hour can easily be broken up through out your day.. take a walk downtown instead of the taxi, what about the stairs instead of the elevator? be aware of what you can change all without really effecting you’re time.
We hope you enjoyed some of our simple yet stress free tips. If you live in Auckland city or just generally a bit stressed out try these tips and see all the extra time you can free up, remember use it wisely and for all your cleaning needs delegate with Grand Clean.
