Silver washing machine from Grand Clean

This can method can clean both top and front load machines.

Now this is the way I found cleaning my washing to be most effective and well as natural as I can get. I’ve come across so many people that clean their washing machines with harsh chemicals like bleach! Please try this natural method of using Baking Soda and Vinegar for fantastic results

Cleaning your washing a few times per year or once every two months if you’re a heavy user is recommended. This improves and gives a better quality wash which can actually get rid of smells like mold or other chemical build ups.

Cycle One – Baking Soda

Empty your washing machine, grab your baking soda and throw in one and half to three cups into the washing machine directly. Let it work it’s magic to gently get rid of left behind stains, odors, and molds. Put it on the hottest setting and let it run for as long as it can within reason, however put self-clean cycle on if you can as a more optimal choice.
With an empty washing machine, add in about two cups of baking soda directly into the washing machine – this is going to gently scrub the inside and combat those stale, moldy odors that are left behind via old soap and fabric softener deposits..run a large, long, hot water cycle and leave it be. If your machine has a self-clean cycle, use it.

Cycle Two – Vinegar

This cycle we get to be a bit creative and you can even put your scents mixed in with the vingaer for your own custom smell. I like to use a few drops of lemon or lavender oil this awesome combination also helps breaks down the stubborn residues the baking soda couldn’t. Again run a long session on the hottest setting.
Next, we’ll add in 2 cups of plain white vinegar and 10 drops of essential oil like tea tree or lavender which help with mildew and mineral deposits and will also act as a mild disinfectant. Run another cycle through and set it to the longest, hottest and biggest setting you can find. Let ‘er rip! The vinegar will help break down any deposits and further remove moldy smells.

If you have any rubber seals on your washing machines, making sure you get right under them or even remove them to ensure you get rid of any residue stuck on the rubbers, a good way is to dip it into a try of vinegar and the oil with lemon drops to remove all stains.

Give it a good wipe down with a tea towel or any cotton will do. If you see any remaining residue get more vinegar and put a bit of elbow grease in but most of the time it should be spick and span, that’s it! now it wasn’t too hard was it?

Clean the outside and trays too!

Good thing here is you can use the exact same too ingredients for all exterior services use a cotton cloth and elbow grease to rub off stains. For small areas I like using a toothbrush, just make sure you stay away from harsh cleaning sponges that may scratch the services. Fill your dispensing trays with vinegar and let it soak overnight if you can, poor it out in the morning and you’ll have no residues and odors.

Extra tips for maintaining a clean washing machine

Make sure when you are done leave the door or lid open so you don’t have a damp environment for mold to grow. I even do this for my microwave to ensure the airflow helps carries the bad smells and helps the next clean or meal~

Ever get wet damp smelling clothes but the’re completely dry? after washing your clothes make it a priority to remove it straight away again to ensure mold and mildew don’t get a chance to give of smells.

Lastly when using detergent don’t over indulge and think because you have a lot of extra dirty clothes you can get away with pouring more to make it clean or cleaner than if you would to do it the proper way – however it’ll only leave stains on both clothes and you’re washing machine so ensure you pre-soak your clothes in the right pre-wash detergents or sprays on tough stains.
